It’s the people who make places Juan Gabriel
Alberto Aguilera watched Juan Gabriel be born on this border, as he took his first artistic steps here. Grateful to the people who supported him, and with a sensitivity that went beyond music alone, he always kept in mind helping others and never forgot his people: the people of Juárez.
Since its opening, the Juan Gabriel Museum has welcomed free of charge more than 300 people belonging to various social groups and universities, with the Foundation absorbing to date more than $80,000.00 MXN, with the firm conviction that, through the enjoyment and understanding of Juan Gabriel’s philosophy of life and work, bridges of inspiration and connection are built that positively impact the stories of each of our visitors.
On May 7, 2025, Mtra. Elvira Urrutia Castro, General Director of the Municipal Institute for Women of Ciudad Juárez (IMM), presented a recognition to the Juan Gabriel Foundation for the joint efforts made in favor of the women served by the institute.
Ciudad Juárez is recognized for its migration, medical, and business tourism, as well as for its bicultural character, being a border city with El Paso, Texas, in the United States. One of Juan Gabriel’s homes, now converted into a museum and located in a historic house acquired by the artist in 1984 on one of Ciudad Juárez’s main avenues, has been visited over the years by thousands of fans who come exclusively to see it from various parts of Mexico and different countries around the world.
